Nominations for NZRA President
Are you dedicated to the New Zealand recreation and leisure industry?
Do you have a passion and strong desire to see NZRA grow?
NZRA is calling for nominations for the position of President of the New Zealand Recreation Association. This is an elected volunteer position. You may nominate yourself or another NZRA member for the position of President by submitting a nomination form, citation and a one page CV, stating the reasons why you consider yourself or another member to be a worthy candidate. Nominations close Wednesday 8 September 2010. A summary of the nominations and a voting form will be sent out to all members in late September, with the result of the election announced at the AGM in October at the National Conference.

 SPARC Peer Review Service
NZRA is facilitating this service on behalf of SPARC. Have your recreation and sport facility feasability study or strategy peer reviewed. Kevin Collier, Sports Services Manager at Christchurch City Council rated the peer review experience as very worthwhile. “NZRA pulled together a very high calibre of panel members who offered a balanced mix of local and external perspective. We had input on who we wanted on the panel which was great. The opportunity to sit in on the review meeting was also good as it allowed for a 2-way discussion on what is a complex plan. The review team’s big picture view of our plan allowed us to step back a little and ‘see the wood through the trees’. It was very good value for money and I would certainly recommend it to other councils who might be planning big recreation projects.”

Yardstick goes global: After successfully establishing Yardstick in Australia, NZRA has partnered with IFPRA to promote Yardstick internationally.
