Wellington City Council - Facility Manager - Karori Recreation Centre & Karori Pool

If you are an experienced recreation facility manager looking for an opportunity to manage two of Wellington's premier community recreation facilities then this could be for you. The Parks, Sport and Recreation team lead the provision of a wide range of services, facilities and outcomes across the city. As part of the Recreation Facilities team you will make a significant contribution to those outcomes through the management of both our Karori Pool and Karori Recreation Centre.

The pool complex comprises a 25m heated indoor pool, learner pool, toddler pool, spa and hydroslide. Some of the services the pool provides include a fantastic learn to swim programme, aqua fitness classes, lane swimming and lane/pool hire, preschool playtime sessions, school holiday activities and schools aquatic education programmes.

The recreation centre is located 400m from the pool in the heart of the town centre. It comprises of a multi-purpose sports hall, a squash court and two community rooms. At the recreation centre we provide opportunities for the whole community to actively engage, from activities for pre-schoolers right through to our popular programmes for seniors.

Arborist Permanent - Full Time

Hamilton is known for its natural environment, with street and park trees an important feature of the city scape.

Hamilton City Council's City Parks team is responsible for the physical work on those trees, and is in the market for an Arborist to join their crew.

The Arborist role includes the maintenance of established trees across the city, one-off tree removals, routine pruning, and the planting of new specimens.

We're after a committed and enthusiastic parks or tree work professional with a recognised arboriculture qualification. Previous experience in and knowledge of urban tree work will be an advantage.

Help shape Honiara’s sporting future and encourage sports participation as the city prepares to host the 2023 Pacific Games.

Despite demand within the community for increased sport and recreational activities, many municipal sporting facilities remain under-developed. The Honiara City Council Youth, Women and Sports Division needs a volunteer to support their work developing these facilities and sporting opportunities in the community. Working as part of a small team, you will help develop a Community Sports Development Strategy to revitalise sporting venues, in alignment with government plans for the 2023 Pacific Games. This Strategy will form the basis for greater community outreach and engagement, raising awareness of the sporting activities on offer at venues throughout the city.

This exciting opportunity is a full-time, paid position working in a Garden of International Significance that is home to over 6,800 plant species.

In addition to on-job training, this apprenticeship position will require study and tutorials outside of working hours. The ability to work methodically, show a strong work ethic, a commitment to learning and completing the three-year apprenticeship, is a pre-requisite.
