As a Parks Sector Team Leader, you will lead the multi-disciplinary team responsible for the maintenance and management of these community parks within either the northern or southern sector of the city, which includes Banks Peninsula.

Auckland Council - Senior Ranger Recreation and Education - Southern

For many of us, they are places that inspire and define us; places where we seek tranquillity and respite in nature, or more active recreation in the bush or on the beach.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Ranger Recreation and Education to join our Southern Regional Parks team.

In this role you will work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including local Iwi, community and volunteer groups. Working across the Auckland Council group, you will drive to fulfil the recreational and education goals as outlined in the Auckland Plan and Regional Parks Management Plan.

You will provide leadership, advice, guidance and support to our team and wider networks to ensure services are delivered. There will be a focus on recreation planning, ranger based education programmes, event management and leadership of a team of park rangers. You will also be responsible for coordinating resources necessary to manage portfolios and projects in an integrated manner, including work programming, budget management and park asset services standards.

You will be vigilant at all times while managing risk, customer queries and complaints in an objective manner.

We operate Hamilton Park Cemetery which has served the community since 1957, and includes the crematorium and chapel facilities we have operated since 1963.

The team at Hamilton Park Cemetery is looking for someone to fill a specialist position. This is a rare opportunity, and one we realise is not for everyone.
