Magical Park – a community tool to get kids off the couch

The New Zealand Interface Magazine, which educates schools about the latest healthy technology for kids, invited Geo AR Games along as one of the keynote speakers to their national road show. While the focus at the conference was very much on what Augmented Reality can provide to a classroom, it became quickly clear how much teachers love the idea to use Magical Park as a way to get their kids more often active outside. Which is why your local primary school can now sign up for 2 months FREE Magical Park for their school grounds. Get your local schools to sign up on our website www.geoar.tech/schools.

Primary schools, who took advantage of the trial so far, saw already benefits in using Magical Park. Brian Eales, Principal from the Clive Primary School says ”Magical Park opens up a whole new dimension for children linking the engaging world of devices and the great outdoors. It allows for the creative use of devices and mathematical concepts while maintaining physical activity. It can strengthen the tuakana teina relationship when older students work with young students.”

Sue Wilson, Assistant Principal from the Pomaria Primary School in Henderson, Auckland added "This has had a positive effect on learning with an increase in both writing and oral language skills for some of our Learners.”

Alternatively you can get a Magical Park pop-up park for 9 days (weekend to weekend) for the school holidays for $500. To find out more contact magicalparks@nzrecreation.org.nz
