Accessibility for New Zealanders Bill Submission

Overview of the submission

The Accessibility for New Zealanders Bill was aimed at addressing the accessibility barriers faced by disabled people, so they can live independently and participate fully in all areas of life, including Recreation.

Our interest in this Bill is ensuring that the benefits of Recreation for Disabled people are understood at both the participant and governance levels and that barriers to participation in recreation are reduced.

Recreation Aotearoa made a written submission to the select committee stage of this legislation and made an oral submission to the select committee in December 2022.
