Bay Venues …. Haven’t heard of us? Not to worry; I bet you have heard of some of the venues we own or operate – the iconic Mount Hot Pools, Baywave, or Mercury Baypark to name a few. As the kaitiaki of 24 facilities in Tauranga Moana, we proudly offer a range of activities and experiences intended to put a smile on the dial of our community.  

We are currently seeking an Aquatics Supervisor to join the team at Baywave Aquatic & Leisure Centre. This position primarily operates from our Regional Aquatic Centre Baywave, and offers the chance to work throughout our bustling Aquatic network, facilitating skill development and staff integration.

The Aquatic Supervisor ensures the customer experience and venue presentation is to a high standard, along with administration support to the Operation Managers. The role also oversees the daily tasks of our Lifeguards to ensure a safe, efficient and compliant operation, while leading a high performing team.

To be successful in this role you will have previous staff leadership experience, plus excellent communication and organisation skills. Knowledge of aquatic facilities or previous lifeguarding experience would be beneficial but not essential as training can be provided. Knowledge of, or experience in the tourism and customer experience industry is also preferable. A Pool Lifeguard Practicing Certificate is essential to this role, however if you do not currently have one, we can provide the training required. 

You will need skills in first aid and some exposure to emergency procedures, the ability to keep a cool head in high pressure moments and build relationships with customers are also crucial to the role.
