From water safety programs to waka ama initiatives, from transformative camps to the art of mau rākau, the applications showcased the incredible breadth of activities that support the growth, development, and enjoyment of Rangatahi. We applaud all applicants for their passion and dedication to creating inclusive and meaningful recreation opportunities.

We are delighted to announce that 26 applications have been selected to receive funding. The successful applicants have demonstrated exceptional vision and innovation, aligning perfectly with our shared goal of providing equitable recreation opportunities for all young people. Congratulations to each of them on this well-deserved recognition!

Behind the scenes, we owe a debt of gratitude to our judges who dedicated their time and expertise to review the applications. Their commitment to this process has been invaluable. We are particularly proud to have established a Rangatahi judging process. Four Rangatahi, representing the two population groups from across Wellington, gathered together and developed new networks and relationship skills. Their feedback and assessments have added a unique perspective, enabling us to create a more inclusive and empowering decision-making process. Their scores were included in the final ratification process.

We recognize that the effort invested in reviewing applications is no small feat, and we extend our deepest appreciation to all of our judges for their unwavering support. Their expertise and insights have played a pivotal role in shaping the outcomes of He Puna Korikori. We are grateful for their dedication and contributions to creating equitable recreation opportunities for Rangatahi. We'd also like to say thanks to Sport New Zealand for their support with this process.
