Recreation Aotearoa welcomes the opportunity to provide input on Hamilton City Council’s Long Term Plan. 

Following the Whakaari/White Island and a subsequent review, MBIE announced changes to the Adventure Activity Regulations regime. These changes involve amendments to the Health and Safety at Work (Adventure Activities) Regulations 2016.

In late 2021, WorkSafe released draft changes to the Safety Audit Standard for Adventure Activities, for public consultation.

The Accessibility for New Zealanders Bill was aimed at addressing the accessibility barriers faced by disabled people, so they can live independently and participate fully in all areas of life, including Recreation.

The Ministry for the Environment offered up the opportunity to submit perspective to their draft National Climate Change Adaption Plan.

Many members will be aware that in response to the Whakaari / White Island catastrophe, the Ministry of Business and Innovation (MBIE) has undertaken a review of the Adventure Activity Regulations. 

The New Zealand Infrastructure Commission has developed a 30-year Infrastructure Strategy, Infrastructure for a Better Future. The document was open to public consultation.

Recreation Aotearoa has a made submission on the Tauranga City Council (TCC) Long Term Plan.

Recreation Aotearoa has made a submission on Christchurch City Council's Long Term Plan.

In early 2019, Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) undertook a review of its stewardship of Crown Pastoral Land, which Recreation Aotearoa contributed to.
